Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-28
1. Summary
Math Duel (mathduel.games) is a privacy-first puzzle game site. We collect no personal data, set no cookies, and use no third-party trackers. Game scores are stored only in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
2. Data We Collect
- Plausible Analytics (anonymous, cookie-less): We use Plausible Analytics to count anonymous page views. Plausible is cookieless, GDPR-compliant by design, and does not collect IP addresses or any personally identifiable information. No data is shared with third parties; no advertising profile is built.
- Local storage only (your device): Game scores, settings, and language preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.
- Optional anonymous game account (server-side, no personal data): If you use the leaderboard, friend list, shop, or daily tournament, we keep an anonymous account on our servers identified only by a randomly generated ID. It may store your chosen nickname, game history (for your streak/stats), friend connections, and chat messages. You can clear it anytime via the "reset" button on your statistics page. An encrypted "chat" message is stored only so your friends can read it later, is never sold or shared, and expires via automatic retention.
2b. Retention & Deletion
- Anonymous messages are retained to deliver them to the recipient; you can remove friends to delete the shared chat thread.
- Aggregated event counts (used only to improve the games) are automatically purged after 30 days.
- Deleting your anonymous account removes your nickname and game history from the leaderboard.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- No name, email, phone number, or account info (we have no sign-up)
- No IP address logging (Plausible strips all IPs)
- No cookies, no fingerprinting, no device identifiers
- No advertising trackers (no Google Ads, no Facebook Pixel, no ad networks)
- No third-party scripts beyond Plausible Analytics
4. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
We collect no personal data. Your anonymous game account is tied only to a random ID and can be deleted at any time; below are the ways you can access or remove data:
- Access: You can view your local storage at any time via your browser's DevTools (Application → Local Storage).
- Delete local data: You can clear your browser's local storage to wipe all game scores and settings instantly.
- Delete anonymous account: Use the "reset" button on your statistics page to remove your server-side nickname, history, and leaderboard entry.
- Opt-out of analytics: Plausible Analytics is inherently opt-out-by-design (no cookies, no consent required). You can also block
plausible.iovia browser extensions if preferred. - Do Not Track: Honored. Plausible ignores DNT signals since it already collects no personal data.
5. Children's Privacy
Our games are suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / under 14 in China). Since no personal data is collected by design, COPPA / GDPR-K compliance is structurally guaranteed.
6. International Transfers
Plausible Analytics is hosted on EU servers (Frankfurt) when serving EU traffic, and aggregations are stored in the EU. By using this site, you understand that anonymous aggregate counts pass through Plausible's infrastructure — see Plausible's data policy for details.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be announced on the home page banner.
